Thin Blue Line Flag

Product Details
This 3x5 thin blue line flag is made in America. Many fly this flag in support of our police and law enforcement personnel across the country. Made of durable nylon and brass grommets for attaching to your flag pole. This flag feature a solid black bar on the top and the bottom of the flag with a thin blue line separating the two fields in the center.
What does the thin blue line flag represent?
This iconic symbol is seen all over the place these days. From flags to T-Shirts. The meaning of the thin blue line has multiple meanings depending on who you ask. According to Oxford Dictionaries, it is a symbol of law enforcement "in the context of maintaining order during unrest." Basically, the police (the thin blue line) separate chaos from order or criminals from victims.
A police department in Connecticut says that the black areas the blue line separate actually represents life and death, and we do see this symbol very often used to honor an officer killed in the line of duty.
It is a blue line as that is the traditional colors of police uniforms, while the black is used as a stark contrast for the blue line.
Interestingly enough the first use of the thin blue line in America actually represented the US Army (at this time the U.S. soldiers wore blue uniforms) in a poem from 1911. This poem tweaked the original "thin red line" which dates back to 1854 and referenced a battle formation.
The first use of the thin blue line to represent police and law enforcement is found in 1966 when used in a documentary exploring the brotherhood of police officers.
There are also some negative connotations to the flag used throughout society, however, this flag really is used to show support for police and their job to the communities they serve.
